THE CASE FOR AN ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN-JORDANIAN CONFEDERATION

This extended article argues a case for an Israeli-Palestinian-Jordanian Confederation, proposes the central elements necessary to realize this in practice, and offers policy advice key players as well makers United States, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. After 73 years of conflict, following Arab Spring, intermittent violence between Israel Palestinians, Palestinians will not give up on their aspiration statehood. Ultimately, two-state solution remains only viable option end conflict. The difference, however, framework peace discussed 1990s 2000s—where focus was establishing Palestinian state West Bank Gaza—versus present time is that many new, irreversible facts have been created: interspersing Israeli populations Bank, Jerusalem, Israel; status where both sides unique religious affinity; settlements majority which remain place; intertwined national security concerns involved; resettlement of/compensation refugees.
